DELPHOS was founded in 1967 by two actuaries, Jayme da Silva Menezes and José Américo Peón de Sá, and by an insurance broker, Fernando Newlands.

A pioneer in providing specific and specialized services for the Brazilian insurance market, DELPHOS is qualified to meet any insurance-related demand or activity, with solutions, ranging from various initial surveys and preliminary risk appraisal to full portfolio management.

In addition to providing solutions in information technology to the insurance market, DELPHOS is also experienced in product creation, claim regulation, technological development, telephone services to Consumer Service Centers and Ombudsman offices, and any other services allowing insurance companies to outsource a number of their operating activities, or even all of them.

DELPHOS currently has more than 35 insurance companies as clients for its activity in providing services to various insurance branches, with an emphasis on housing insurance, life insurance and casualty insurance.

The companies in the group are controlled by ITAPETININGA PARTICIPAÇÕES LTDA. and by Eduardo da Silva Menezes. Except for DELPHOS SERVIÇOS TÉCNICOS S/A, the other companies also have their executives as partners.

Founded in 1967, its Board of Directors is comprised by its President, Eduardo da Silva Menezes, Vice-President, Elisabete Joana Bazana Prado, Operations Director, Henrique Albuquerque Macieira, Technology Director, Carlos Trindade Ferreira and Production Director, Fernando da Silva Menezes.

Its Advisory Council is presided by José Américo Peón de Sá, and also relies on shareholders’ representatives Jayme da Silva Menezes, Maria Lúcia da Silva Menezes, Clara Guimarães Correia Alves, and Eduarda Samary França C.M. Couto..

Its Ethics Committee is comprised by Cristina Cupello, Leandro Kling, Leonardo Bagno and Vitor Batista, having as alternates Andrea Couto, Ana Lins, Carlos Souza and Sandro Barbosa.

People Management

Delphos dedicates special care towards those who work in the company, in order to achieve its PURPOSE.

Delphos started, in August 2003, to develop its Life Quality Program, aiming to provide its collaborators with better working conditions and greater balance between their personal and professional lives.

Dozens of actions were created and several new benefits offered since then, among which various sports activities. One of the sports activities which most involved company collaborators was street running, which led the Delphos‘ team to winning a great number of trophies as the largest team in different events.

Teamwork is basic at Delphos and, unlike many companies, the hiring of family members is accepted and encouraged. This is probably the reason why the persons who work in the company identify their work environment as being that of their own homes , and everyone interacts as if they were from the same family.

In 2018, as a result of its people management, Delphos was chosen, by Great Place to Work , as the sixteenth best medium-sized company to work at in Rio de Janeiro. This result is noteworthy , for it was the first time Delphos was taking part in the competition.

GPTW reached this classification from the assessment of three parameters. One of these parameters comprised comparing Delphos’ collaborators’ answers to responses from other companies’ workers. In this case, from the 58 questions put forth, Delphos was above the average, regarding  thirty higher-ranking companies,  in 45 answers, and in the average in 6 other answers. That is, it was in or above the  average regarding the 30 best companies in 88% of the survey questions.
