This is a compulsory of insurance mode, according to Law 6,194/74, which determines payment by all land-based motor vehicle owners, with no exception at all, and which assures that vehicular accident victims receipt of indemnifications, even though those accountable for the accidents do not bear this burden.
DPVAT, with three types of indemnifiable claims, provides coverage for DEATH, FULL OR PARTIAL PERMANENT DISABILITY, and DAMS – MEDICAL AND SUPPLEMENTARY ASSISTANCE EXPENSES.
Indemnification amounts are defined by the National Private Insurance Council – the CNSP (Conselho Nacinal de Seguros Privados) – a body linked to the Ministry of Finance, corresponding to R$ 13,500.00 for Death and Disability and up to R$ 2,700.00 for DAMS.
Delphos was the first company to regulate DPVAT claims, being fully qualified to render claim regulation services for any insurer acting in this segment, as it relies on experience ranging for more than 23 years. Our team is 100% certified, according to Resolution CNSP/115/2004.
Delphos acted in enabling the agreement which led to the current policy administration model, still in the 1980’s. It was Delphos which drew up FENASEG’s interface with the DETRAN´s, and developed the system which is to this date basis for controlling premium receipt and claim payment.
